Hoste Barn topiarist Paul Everden wins the Henchman home garden topiarist of the year 2025. A garden 32 years in the making, lovingly planted, maintained and cut by Paul and Sian. The coveted trophy has attracted much public interest with a filmed article on the BBC and a feature in both The Times and a double page spread in the Express. We have been chosen by English Gardens as runner-up in the East of England. This was after we had exhibited the garden as part of the National Garden Scheme, where we raised almost £4000 for cancer charities.

Just before lockdown, we started to replace the ridge of the thatched roof of Hoste Barn. This is something that needs to be done after the first 15 years of a thatched roof's life. Not only does the ridge get replaced, but the rest of the thatched roof is combed and wired to protect it for the future. We are regular visitors to Norfolk, a great county in which to pursue our hobbies of Birding and Photography. We chose to stay in Hoste Barn, having looked for holiday properties in North Norfolk. Paul and Sian were great hosts and very welcoming. We took up their offer to wander through their amazing garden.
